Acceptable Programs of Study: A program shall qualify as acceptable for District of Columbia CPE requirements if it meets the following standards:

  • It is a formal program of learning which contributes directly to the growth in professional competence of an individual; and
  • It is substantially equivalent to the minimum standards of the development and presentation and measurement and reporting set forth in the Statement of Standard for Formal Continuing Professional Education Programs adopted by NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy).
  • Specific areas designated: accounting and auditing, taxation, management advisory services, computer science, communication arts, mathematics, economics, business law, ethics, functional fields of business, specialized areas of industry and administrative practice.
